For a $2 donation students may wear casual clothes instead of the SMA uniform. For the ways in which students may make their $2 donation, please see the preceding heading “Mission Club Casual Days”. Proceeds from Casual Day on Friday, October 7, benefit the Ma Mawi Wi Chi Itata Centre's "Honoring the Spirit of our Little Sisters" Indigenous Care Home Program. It is a six-bed specialized home for girls and transgender teens aged 13 to 17 who survive through violence and exploitation. The Ma Mawi Wi Chi Itata Centre, Inc. was born in the fall of 1984 by committed community members who sought an Indigenous solution to supporting and rebuilding families. The name Ma Mawi Wi Chi Itata translates from Ojibway into the phrase, “we all work together to help one another”. Today, the Ma Mawi Wi Chi Itata Centre has more than 50 programs, 11 sites, and 200+ staff and volunteers. Find out more at www.mamawi.com/children-in-care.
