Parent Volunteers Needed for International Day
Sunday, October 23 from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM
International Day is a time-honoured tradition that brings together the SMA community to celebrate its diversity and culture. Similar to Folklorama, this event offers a variety of ethnic food pavilions, artistry, music, and dance. International Day is the primary fundraiser for the Parents' Guild with proceeds benefiting extra-curricular activities and equipment for our students. After a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic, the Parents’ Guild is excited to host International Day on Sunday, October 23. For many families, this will be their first International Day with us. 

Volunteers Needed: Many volunteers are needed to make International Day a success. Parents, caregivers and students are encouraged to volunteer. Please email jbthiessen@me.com or maraleclair@mymts.net to advise of your interest in volunteering. Thank you.

Pre-purchase International Day Food Cards: A most enjoyable part of International Day is the food. A host of ethnically diverse pavilions will offer delicious traditional food. There are pavilions representing China, East India, Greece, Italy, Philippines, Portugal, St. Vincent and the Grenadines. Skip the line and pre-purchase your International Day food cards. Please send an e-transfer to parentsguild@smamb.ca with your students’ name in the message. Each food card is $25. The pre-purchased cards will be available for pick up on International Day.

Agenda for International Day

• Mass begins at 11:00 AM in Alumnae Hall
• Pavilions serving ethnic food open at 12:00 PM in the Cafeteria
  - Pavilions represent China, Greece, Italy, India, Nigeria, Pakistan, Philippines, Portugal, St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
• Entertainment begins at 1:00 PM in Alumnae Hall
• Wine Basket Raffle: Draw takes place at 2:30 PM in the Cafeteria
  - Buy tickets for a chance to win a variety of wines from different countries.
    Tickets available in the Sheila Chipman Atrium.
    1 sheet for $10.00 or 3 sheets for $25.00.
