Ash Wednesday Service

On Ash Wednesday (March 2) students will gather in their cohorts in Alumnae Hall for our Ash Wednesday Prayer service. In keeping with tradition, we gather in prayer to prepare for the season of Lent. Lent lasts for 40 days and is a time where we are called to pray, serve (almsgiving) and fast before the celebrations of Easter. At SMA our Lenten theme this year is, Live Lent Listening to the Voice of God. Our Mission and Charism team will invite students to reflect on the following questions; Whose Voice am I Listening To? and, How am I Living the Voice of God?

 

We can Live the Voice of God by fasting from words that hurt, from holding grudges and from acting in anger.

We can Live the Voice of God by sharing our time, talents and treasure.

We can Live the Voice of God by taking a quiet moment out of our day to be silent, so that we can listen.
